In order to allow the consular section to better help and serve you, please register with the Embassy as soon as you arrive in the country. All U.S. citizens in Sri Lanka, long-term residents and temporary visitors, should register with the Consular Section. Residents and tourists should fill out a registration card and bring your passport. You will be added to the Emergency Notification Warden System. All local five-star hotels are part of this system, so tourists will receive Warden Notices when issued.

The Department of State has initiated an Smart Traveler Enrollment Program for American Citizens traveling abroad. You may utilize this service for a speedy registration even before leaving the United States.
