Colombo, July 21, 2006 —The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce that starting August 1,  all non-immigrant visa applicants residing in Sri Lanka and the Maldives will have more options to schedule a visa interview.  The U.S. Embassy has entered into a partnership with TT Services (TTS) to begin scheduling appointments for all for a U.S. Non-Immigrant Visa interviews.  This partnership with TTS will continue the Embassy’s commitment to one-day service for all applicants by providing five convenient methods:  fax, mail/courier, e-mail, online, and in person.  Furthermore, TTS will provide applicants with detailed online and over-the-phone information regarding application procedures, emergency appointment requests and appointment availability.

This new appointment scheduling system will have no effect on the actual interview process at the U.S. Embassy.  The interview process remains unchanged and all applicants should bring supporting documents to the U.S. Embassy only on the day of their interview.

The TTS service fee for each applicant is 500 Sri Lankan Rupees.  Family groups of both parents and up to two children will be charged as a single applicant.  We strongly recommend reviewing the information found at the TT Services website at http://www.ttsusvisas.lk for answers to any questions you may have regarding this new service.  The TTS office is located at 32C Sir Mohamed Maccan Markar Mawatha, Colombo 3.
